What a blessing it is to bring the Good News of Jesus Christ, and to praise His name through song! As I have reached, and passed, the 1/2 century mark, I often reflect on how God is orchestrating my path in life. I have been blessed with a wonderful, loving wife and family, a prospering business, great church family, and good health. My prayers are full of gratitude. Seeking God's will and direction for my life, it became apparent that I am to share the Gospel through my music. It is a common thread through out my life.
I am grateful and thankful that God allows me to do something I enjoy, to bring praise and honor to Him through song. He continues to open many doors.
To God be the Glory,
Bruce Burgess

My childhood years were spent in upstate NY at the edge of the Adirondack Mountains. I remember the sprawling fields, winding country roads, and fishing and swimming in the lake. My family attended the Log Chapel, where I made a public commitment to Christ during revival meetings and was baptized at age 13. I am so grateful for the spiritual foundation laid by my parents and extended church family.
I enjoyed playing piano and singing from an early age. In Jr. and Sr. High School, I participated in the school chorus, a twelve-member female ensemble called "Spirit of Sound" and helped with music at our church. Of course, the best memories are of harmonizing with my family!
After moving back to PA and finishing college, I became an active member at Perkiomenville Mennonite Church and provided leadership in worship. I began teaching at Penn View Christian School and married Andy Ness a few years later. We have two children, Lauren age 9 and Drew age 6, who provide many "teachable moments" for all of us.
I feel blessed to be in Depth of Mercy and have the opportunity to fulfill a dream of being part of a musical group that points people toward God and values harmony as much as I do! And I have been blessed by the friendship extended within the group and from those we meet at our concerts.
My prayer is that our music would forge a connection with others - through our enthusiasm, sincerity, and vulnerability - and convey that, we too, know the joy and struggle of being a follower of Jesus Christ.
