What a blessing it is to bring the Good News of Jesus Christ, and to praise His name through song! As I have reached, and passed, the 1/2 century mark, I often reflect on how God is orchestrating my path in life. I have been blessed with a wonderful, loving wife and family, a prospering business, great church family, and good health. My prayers are full of gratitude. Seeking God's will and direction for my life, it became apparent that I am to share the Gospel through my music. It is a common thread through out my life. I started as a young boy singing in church. I sing as a soloist, play on my church praise & worship team, sing in the choir and sing duets.
For about 2 years now I have been bringing BRUCE BURGESS GOSPEL MUSIC to other churches and events. To best describe my style of music would be Southern Country Gospel. It has been said I have "warmth" in my style. I enjoy all types of Gospel Music from leading songs, praise & worship, hymns, a touch of blues and jazz. I like to sprinkle in a little of everything for variety in my program. I sing and accompany myself on guitar. Rhythm, slap rhythm, neck bar chords, some jazz chords for flavor and finger picking all add up to an enjoyable, fun program.
Some of the recent blessings with singing is the release of my first CD, "I Believe", Sept. 2007. In Jan. 2008, I sang for a week in Alabama prisons for the www.wecareprogram.org. Also this year I have sung on the radio WDVR in Sergentsville, NJ. I released my second CD, "The Rooster Song" in July 2008, at the Martinsburg PA State Singing Convention, which also aired on the radio. From that, I was asked to do a guest appearance on Family-Life TV in Kittanning, PA in Nov. 2008. I will announce when you will be able to find it at www.familylifetv.com. I have also done many concerts in the past few years.
I am grateful and thankful that God allows me to do something I enjoy, to bring praise and honor to Him through song. He continues to open many doors.
